John Oliver took on the obviously hilarious topic of payday lending on Sunday's Last Week Tonight, and once again proved that it's possible to do some really smart advocacy journalism in a comedy format and make it work -- almost as if he thinks that comedy can do more than just give us a cheap laugh or something.
BTW, if you could ever have a more perfect poster child the point that it's expensive to be poor than the payday loan industry, I think I probably don't want to know, I've already spent far too much time in hospital this year.

The legislative whackamole really just points out how sometimes socialism is so much more effective at protecting the people - have the Government offer loans at oh, say, 25%, and the entire industry would vanish overnight.
