I think we're cleaning out our collective junk drawer. Each outdated, useless, rotten thing that got shoved way in the back is being pulled out for a final look-see so we can decide if it's worth keeping or not.

The best part of this is that he has to pony up the cash in order to appeal, or get someone to post a surety bond for the same. As he has managed to become so radioactive to anyone who isn't evil and having Putin or MBS put up the dough would pretty much sink any further attempts to win elected office he is effectively fucked.

NYer here. I admit, I died laughing at the Google translations. I mean, the guy is a crook, a liar, a grifter and a has been. And now, he’s a broke has been.

Loving every second of this. If there’s such a thing as a Schadenfreude Fairy, she’s made an appearance in Judge Engoron’s courtroom.

Donald Trump launches own-brand shoes after $355m court blow

Former US President Donald Trump has launched his own line of Trump-branded shoes at Sneaker Con - a convention for sneaker fans in Philadelphia.

His appearance was met with loud boos as well as cheers after he presented a pair of the gold-coloured shoes being sold online for $399.

His move comes a day after a judge ordered him to pay nearly $355m (£281m) to New York state for lying about the values of his properties.

Trump is widely expected to be the Republican candidate in November's US presidential election.

So he only has to sell 890,000 pairs of shoes to make up the $355M…or only 445,000 pairs if the price is $399 per shoe, which wouldn’t surprise me.

“Do you understand anything I’m saying?” shouted Moist. “You can’t just go around killing people!”

“Why Not? You Do.” The golem lowered his arm.

“What?” Moist. “I do not! Who told you that?”

“I Worked It Out. You Have Killed Two Point Three Three Eight People,” said the golem calmly.

“I have never laid a finger on anyone in my life, Mr. Pump. I may be—all the things you know I am, but I am not a killer! I have never so much as drawn a sword!”

“No, You Have Not. But You Have Stolen, Embezzled, Defrauded, And Swindled Without Discrimination, Mr. Lipvig. You Have Ruined Businesses And Destroyed Jobs. When Banks Fail, It Is Seldom Bankers Who Starve. Your Actions Have Taken Money From Those Who Had Little Enough To Begin With. In A Myriad Small Ways You Have Hastened The Deaths Of Many. You Did Not Know Them. You Did Not See Them Bleed. But You Snatched Bread From Their Mouths And Tore Clothes From Their Backs. For Sport, Mr. Lipvig. For Sport. For The Joy Of The Game.”

Steve Bannon's response to this - and I have STILL never seen anybody who more resembles an infection you would ask your doctor to cure - is as follows.

"They’ve turned over their face cards, and it’s every aspect of life. Every aspect of life. Neo-Marxist, globalist, atheist, demonic. Let’s call it what it is demonic."

Clearly I'm purblind, because I don't see every aspect of life under siege here, just crooked and fraudulent business dealings, and you can, last time I looked, consistently be against those whether you are an atheist or devout believer. Maybe not if you're demonic, but I wouldn't take Bannon's word for what is or isn't demonic.

Would anybody take his word for anything?

How is borrowing money without the intent to pay back, and falsifying values to qualify for that loan, morally better than robbing a bank at gunpoint? (acknowledging that from the point of view of the person having the gun pointed at them, it is very different)

Trump just yesterday saw the SEC approve Trump's Social Media merger with DWAC which provides Trump (personally) a $4 Billion infusion. I think we all know money will be shifted around and he'll magically cover this verdict/ruling. What a coincidence that they should both happen on the same day!

Trump Media’s key stockholders, including Trump and its management team, agreed to a common financial provision, known as a “lockup” period, that prevents them from selling shares for six months after the merger unless Digital World waives the agreement, according to a Digital World filing. If the merger occurs in April, for instance, Trump would not be able to sell his shares until October, at which point their value may have changed considerably.

Ritter said that in his opinion the merged company’s valuation — roughly $9 billion, based on Digital World’s current price — is out of sync with the Trump company’s financial performance. Trump Media generated $3.4 million in revenue and lost $49 million during the first nine months of 2023, Digital World said in a recent SEC filing.

There’s some speculation in the media that the Saudis could cover Trump’s penalties because what’s another half a billion to them?

Which would mean they would own his ass more than they already do. And they’re welcome to it, so long as he never sets foot in the White House again.
