I'm afraid the lesson is that Repubs are smarter about the importance of winning elections than Dems are.
We have a top-two primary in California and I'm afraid to see if too many Dems running against few Repubs in a couple of races has given us two Repubs for the general.
It's sort like gerrymandering yourself to ran too many candidates instead of uniting around one fairly early on.
