Thnaks for the response. You.are right about everything you say.

Even as I ironically have Yahoo as my main e-mail, I would never think of reading stories on their 'news' site. The few times I have I have noticed that the comments are often taken over by MAGAts and incels and other kinds or reprobates. That was part of where my mind was at.

And while I am a guy, and can never totally understand how all this feels, many decades ago, I took a friend to a clinic out of town to get an abortion. A sort of sad thing about this is that this was in NY state where there were no problems but she still felt she wanted to go out of town as she didn't want anyone to know about it. Never did I imagine that all these years later that things would essentially be going backwards in so many places. It is criminal what people like Abbott and his ilk are doing.

I wouldn’t normally cite Yahoo as a news source, but that’s what Tacos cited, so I went with that.

For anyone still speculating that SCOTUS might overturn Roe v Wade, my answer is they already have. By letting SB8 take effect in Texas, banning abortions after 6 weeks (not really 6 weeks), they’ve confirmed that fetal viability is no longer the standard, even if they haven’t said it outright.

I get that I’m lucky, because if the worst were to happen, I have the resources to fly to California or wherever. So many women don’t have that option.

Anyway, thank you for being a genuine ally. We need all y’all that we can get.

Hugs.
