Sadly, I am one of those who think a woman has a huge disadvantage running for President. My evidence is that we have never had a woman President. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and was infinitely more qualified than trump, but she still lost the election.

Dems tend to circle the wagons and fire inwards. I suggest they avoid that this time and support Biden unswervingly. He is the likely candidate and it is foolish to undermine our own candidate in any way. Repeating Repub talking points against him is a particularly bad way.

A Biden win might be our best chance for getting our first woman President. A Biden productive full term would also be a good thing. Elect Biden and it's a win-win situation. Changing candidates in midstream is much like changing horse in midstream. Don't do it.

She cannot win because she is a she. I’m real sorry, but all over the world when leadership fails in a fundamental way, whether in politics or in business, someone gets the brilliant idea to put a woman in charge, it will make them look LIKEABLE, it will make them look APPROACHABLE, and the nice lady gets in power and the polls show she is so NICE, and people find her SOFTER, and she’s more LIKEABLE, and then the election or shareholders meeting comes and she DIES A HORRIBLE GRIM DEATH, because high powered men always want mommy to clean up but once it’s clean they would like to throw mommy into the trash bin with the empty windex bottle please.

And then no women get elected or put in as ceo until the next unfixable shitshow.

Nice fantasy, but Kamala Harris cannot beat Trump

I am happy to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris again. If HE should choose to step off the ticket and Harris takes his place,I will be more than happy to vote for her and whomever she might choose as her VP. The ONLY ticket I will vote for is the Democratic ticket.

If he steps off I'm afraid there will be a Dem civil war that will weaken the party and likely end up with a white male candidate. I am pleased to see that Gavin Newsom, the Governor of my state, is supporting Biden fully. He'd also be a great President, but we still need him in California and Kamala would also be a Great President.

Yeah I have to amend my statement earlier that "I don't love this idea." Actually I hate it. You don't switch horses mid-stream. If Kamala was going to be the candidate, the time to do this was last year, not this close to the election. It's madness to try this now and I DO think it will look like nothing else than a clusterfuck.

What Biden needs to do is a big bold challenge to the SC ruling. Let's see what that sucker can really do and make the Republicans shit the bricks when he announces he's going to liberal all over everything and there isn't a damned thing they can about it.

"The Office of the Presidency has been handed a train-car of dynamite, and now is not the time to use a rusty spoon." Sadly I'm afraid Biden is hobbled by years of comity. So far all we're getting is speechifyng, when what we need is balls to the wall pushing the envelope. Make them sue us for a damn change. FFS

The absolute gall of people suggesting there is a “way around” the fucking vice president tells you all you need to know about the state of racism and misogyny in this country.

Racism and misogyny exist. That's just reality, but that's not why Harris would lose to Trump. she just doesn't have the "right stuff". Michele Obama would. but she's not interested.

I disagree that Harris doesn't have the right stuff (except for lacking testicles, which seems to be oddly required for Presidents). She's from California and I've admired her for years. She ran a great primary, especially at first. She lost steam later as Biden picked up.

I love the bussing answer from the 2019 debate. I don't love how the illegal immigration thing went. That was a very high profile failure, which has been followed by total invisibility. She never got a chance to redeem herself to the broader public. We needed more Kamala if she was to be viable now.

Kamala was tasked with an impossible mission: fix immigration in a country where a good chunk of the population thinks “close the borders” is the answer.

A large part of me thinks that Kamala could set Trump back on his heels. I don't even have a joke to go with this.

She would absolutely destroy him in a debate. She should smile more, though.

That’s the point. That is why she couldn’t win, sadly. Competent women scare the shit out of voters the world over.
