Only Kamala would address protestors as they are escorted out and tell them she hears them, their voices matter, and she will do her best to bring them peace. Trump would demand they be arrested, or summarily beaten by his supporters. Then he would pretend to guarantee their legal fees if they are sued for assault or prosecuted by some liberal DA.
Someone wrote an article on those who are not happy about what is happening in Gaza and pointed out that you can chose to vote for someone who will respect your legal right protest or someone who will take all of that away. Don't throw away that vote because you don't like what is happening now because you certainly will not like what happens otherwise in the future if you vote for Trump.
I guess I honestly can't understand why they would think the situation would get better under trump. Like he's been able to get anything of value done in his entire miserable life.
Great article and pics! I was so tempted to make to trek but I didn't have it in me. I've been to that park and it's amazing to see it with that huge crowd! I know AA is blue in both ways, but it gives me a good feeling.
You probably know this, but in those kind of situations I put my camera in bracket mode (where it takes multiple images at different EV settings). No time to chimp. With my Nikon (likely other brands as well) if I have it in bracket mode and also 'continuous high release' shutter mode (what Nikon calls it) it will automatically reel off the full set (3/5/7/or 9) in a second before automatically stopping. I do this mainly for HDR, but it works for ensuring you have SOMETHING you can dig an image out of.
Mainly directed at Dom, but the gist of it is you can set up higher-end cameras to take a series of photographs at different exposure settings automatically with one press of the button.
That means you're more likely to have one exposed correctly and don't have to constantly look at the monitor to check.
Of course, there are other reasons to check (focus, composition, ....)
Oh; and "chimp". Not sure exactly where this term comes from, but it means a photographer (obsessively) looking down to check the monitor on the back of the camera to see if he/she got the shot. My favorite explanation: consider a chimpanzee sitting down, checking out something in his lap.
Your pictures turned out fine!
thanks, dominic. i love reading about how you do your work.
This last week is gonna play hell with my brain.
Great work!
Ta, Dom. Superb photoessay, as always.

I love Ann Arbor. I spent some of the best (so far) years of my life there and few places make me feel as happy or hopeful as that city and campus.
Kamala will be in my town (Harrisburg) tomorrow. Traffic is expected to be insane.

Or any third party spoiler.
Great job under difficult circumstances. I can almost hear the shouting!
Fine spectacle, great folks, and OMG, that dog! LMAO!!
Thanks DQ!
Those last couple of shots on the stage made me a little weepy. I'm not fucking stressed out at all. Thanks, Dom, these are great shots.
ALWAYS love a DOM piece. And I love those shots of Coach Dad!
THANKS Dom!
