Suggested locations for Trump’s Closing Argument/Final Ramble: Jeff Epstein’s island; Billy Bush’s Access Hollywood tour van; Four Seasons Total Landscaping; Bergdorf Goodman lingerie department; or The Ellipse.

I was afraid for Obama, I'm afraid for her.

Maybe give a speech at one of the border patrol stations or immigration offices and explain how thousands of employees work daily to process immigration, asylum and amnesty requests and provide the kind of due process that America usually strives for. It’s so tiresome hearing JD Vance and Trump refer to “Kamala’s open border.” It’s an utter fantasy on so many levels. The VP hardly controls the Dept of Immigration, and certainly has no authority to enact sweeping immigration policy changes without Congress. So it’s not her border. And it’s anything but “open.” Was it open during PAB’s term? Or was it virtually the same complicated and overwhelming situation it’s been for decades? Except for the child separation and added elements of cruelty, a staple of Trump’s grotesque term.

Blatant dishonesty and misinformation in politics should have stiff consequences. Democracy pays the price when you allow liars, corrupt opportunists and unreliable politicians to mislead voters through fear and obfuscation. Why we allow it in the name of “free speech” is baffling. You can prevail in a court of law if someone defames you with a harmful false statement. But the highest office in the land is reachable through utterly dishonest means.

I'm THRILLED they are giving Texas and Allred some loooove. Long overdue. His race against Cancun Cruz is very much thisclose! The focus on women's bodily autonomy, the threats TX is considering about interstate travel... Harris might not win TX but she could if people take these threats to their liberty and privacy as seriously as they should.

Ta, Evan. No notes.

This is brilliant on Kamala's part -- it should jog a fair number of people's memories, at least those who haven't been brainwashed into believing Jan. 6 was all just a friendly picnic in which thousands of patriotic Americans expressed their respectful but dissenting opinions about the election of Joe Biden.

This may be the best run presidential campaign I've ever seen.

It sure is for me!

I just noticed an interesting statistic, for which thanks go to Heather Cox Richardson's _Letters from an American_ blog. "The Harris campaign spent $34,550.02 on sign language interpreting services. The Trump campaign spent $0.00."

As a mostly-deaf Old, this seems important to me, and I demand an accounting for that $0.02!

Viole Falusche's avatar

That seems like a good deal! What's the carrier?

I think she wins Texas and Florida too. Post Dobbs political earthquake will reverberate for decades.

Well, the PAB Quisling did tell his voters to vote on January 5, didn't he?

I hope Kamala draws a chalk outline at the spot where Trump murdered the peaceful transfer of power.

I hope she has a big video screen behind her showing a mob climbing walls and barricades at the Capitol like a bunch of angry fire ants. Maybe that will force Fox and Newsmax to show that violent mob in action if the they want to show Harris and lie about what she is saying.

a week before or a day before?

Next Tuesday, I think so a week before?

This memorial to Trump's January 6 Heroes is up on the National Mall, for real:

Funny AI... using the "tiny desk"

Vic's avatar

Not AI -- it's out there, this afternoon (Thursday), just west of 3rd Street NW on the National Mall.

The G-7 Experience's avatar

Still hilarious to use the “tiny desk”. Self own if nothing else…

Looks like it wasn't put up my MAGA supporters based on the plaque, but I could be wrong. They do completely lack self-awareness and are generally morons.

superdave's avatar

Oh, rally in DC? Maybe I should go down there. Do you think it'll be hard to attend? Tight security?

You Should Ice That Burn's avatar

It's on the Ellipse by the capitol, outside, an area where the Secret Service has a lot of experience securing protectees. There will be security, but it should be pretty easy to get a spot where you can see and hear what's going on.

Vic's avatar

On the Ellipse, just south of the White House and north of the obelisk -- about 16 blocks west of the Capitol building.

Of course, what the NYT will actually cover will be a barber blaming Harris for a mistaken electric bill and a dropout 21 yo in Arizona pissing off his parents by voting for Trump.

BlueDot in Texas's avatar

The last sentence in the article says he voted for Harris though. Albeit reluctantly

Mavenmaven's avatar

So then the NYT headline and opening of the story was an even more craven attempt to create a false atmosphere of "Harris exit"

That was Bannon's master plan "hey Donny all these incels are just like Legos except no ones put them together yet". (That's the lesson Steve got from following Gamer Gate.)

Snarkrates's avatar

The lesson I took from Gamergate was that there are a lot of unfuckable chuds playing games in their parents' basements.

Hey Evan, anotherpony mentioned it below, and they were right.

There’s no Trump Rally on the Madison Square Garden’s schedule page, and there are events every day.

The MSG schedule page may only list events they sell tickets for.

His website has a link for tickets.

Have they doublechecked with Four Seasons Landscaping?

After all, surely they know a bit about gardens.

Madison's squire gardens... out in Scranton.

Did they actually print a picturebook version of Adolfs speeches?

Very industrious these Nazi's. We should be careful.

I was going to make a joke about them publishing a scratch-and-sniff book, but I squicked myself out.
