The Holy Grail is imaginary, like the need for the filibuster

I like to think the worst of Republicans, so I'm going with Manchin just can't bring himself to endorse a black woman but can't actually come out say that.

Manchin's not a Republican? Yeah, right.

I disagree. I think Joe Manchin would stand in the way of policies popular with Democrats and the American people in general no matter who put them forward.

Where's the fun in that? That won't get his ugly mug in the papers, and you must know that looking at yourself in the mirror can only get you so far. Pundits would stop talking about him, they'd have some other annoying horsefly to swat. Like everyone else in show business, he's an attention vampire, what is he if no one pays attention to him any more?

He could have left a hero - supported child care tax credits and infrastructure. But he rolled in the mud and left a rat, not a goat.

As President, what bearing does Harris' support or non-support of the filibuster have to do with anything? If she's presented with legislation that made it through the Senate without being subject to the possibility of filibuster, did Joe expect her to automatically veto it? As usual, his excuses have nothing to do with reality. We won't miss him, that's for sure.

Does anybody care what Manchin thinks anymore? I feel like even his family just rolls their eyes and makes wanking motions when he offers an opinion.

What will poor Joe Manchin do in 50 days or so when he loses all semblance of anybody giving a fuck? He’ll somehow ass up the lame duck session for attention, I suppose. But after that it’s off to almost heaven with you, sir.

Roe is a start I guess. But given that it is based on 50-year-old technology, we could do so much better.

Well the filibuster keeps the Senate from legislating the coal Maserati Joe loves so much and that's most important!

The Senate will never be "the House on steroids." The House is an actual representative body of the people, while in the Senate, Wyoming voters have 50 times as much influence as California voters, and cows in Wyoming have more representation than residents of Washington DC.

The House on Steroids? Joe, have you seen Ted Cruz? The Senate is more like the House of Pancakes.
