Cruel, petty and wholly compromised by partisan politics and the vendettas of one deranged man. This is precisely what the FBI was NOT supposed to be. They were supposed to be an apolitical, non-partisan organization that operated fully independently from the White House. We’ve been through this before with Hoover, Nixon and L. Patrick Gray. Gray was a Nixon toady who tried to kill the Watergate investigation, until Deep Throat, the second in command at the FBI felt a combination of duty and opportunity to ascend to Gray’s job. It all stunk, with Nixon authorizing the Watergate break-in at DNC headquarters, and Gray resigning in disgrace when Woodward and Bernstein busted them.
But where o where is our Deep (state) Throat? Where is our Woodward and Bernstein? The problem now, and the reason this is far more dangerous, is this admin is doing most of their fuckery out in the open, with Congress fully cowed and impotent to stop it. And the scotus is in the bag for Trump, probably believing, as Lindsay Graham does, that as long as this regime never is replaced, no harm or consequences can befall them. Will that really happen? Would the SCOTUS agree that as long as it’s THIS republican administration, it can reign forever???

I realize there are exceptions to every rule, but I think it important to defend those who ***were*** Log Cabin Republicans (and everyday Repubs in the LGBTQIA+ community, too) but saw the coming flood of orange colored shit and said buh-by. I have a huge, beautiful poster right over my desk, with a Pride flag stuck into the corner behind the frame, and a trans ally bracelet hanging from the tip of the flagpole. My company bulletin board (I have a personal bb too; I won it at a work party) has a lovely sign stating that everyone of any and every orientation or gender identity is welcome in our clinic. My gay clients love visiting my office.
