Nice time! Remember those Afghan girls who just wanted to come over here to compete in a robotics competition and were denied visas to do so? They arrived last night! Hooray! That is nice for them! Hope they win! While they were not issued the business visas they needed,

I think my standards aren't as high as yours. That reminds me of my preceptor when I was doing a primary care apprenticeship: He was first generation Irish and recalled a question on a quiz in Catholic school about the color of meat in which his answer was marked incorrect. The problem was, his mom always overcooked meat until it was gray so that was the answer he put, and was furious that the incorrect mark marred his otherwise perfect score. Only after he married his lovely Italian-American wife did he realize what the color of meat was supposed to be.
i like to think the point of that story is that we learn from our mistakes...and we evolve. this should apply to us all...even those alt-right'ers and Trump supporters. it may seem an impossible possiblity but unfortunate for them...hardwired into their fucking DNA is natural selection. they will either evolve or die off.
unfortunate for all of us were our in the adolescent stage of our intellectual evolution....man, it's gonna suck.
as for the food thing...fresh is always better...like if the person prepping your food opens no cans...that's a good sign...cuz here's my point if i'm gonna pay for someone to do something i can do..i.e. make a sandwich or a taco...it 1) better taste fucking delicious and 2) i would prefer fresh ingredients over not fresh ones.
now have i ever ate something delicious that had tons of artificial bs....sure...i like fucking hot dogs...i am an equal opportunity eater....BUT food that is grown/raised locally taste better in my opinion...AND you get the flavors of your locale...think globally, act locally...i do it by stuffing my face from independent food contractor (<---ha ha)
but what makes one taco good and another just merely pedestrian? it's gotta have some sort of zing....a signature....like my fav taco truck dude has five meats: beer_can chicken, mahi mahi, steak, pulled pork, and portabella mushroom (<-not real meat, pretend meat for people who refuse to eat meat but still want to pretend despite the fact there are tons of veggie dishes out there that is not meat-inspired and could blow the fucking doors off meat...i digress) and each one, by itself, meat alone taste fantastic...so there's that....he also makes his own chips and goddamn if they are not the best fucking chip I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE...and i've been to Texas, and the fucking salsa...out of this fucking world...like fucking perfect for chips...just perfect....i would be shit surprised if he used canned anything but if so...eh what the fuck it's good.
so i have no idea if that rant gave you an idea about what i think is a good taco...it's dumb to pontificate about tacos, or food in general.
oooh and cooking is actually not that hard...just sometimes tedious...put in the work...you get the results....
I really did read the whole thing. I know cooking is not hard but being a career dieter from my teen years upward, (a brief break during pregnancy) I try not to be around food that much (also because I figured I would never measure up to my ex-MOL's cooking so I figured I wouldn't even try. I made pot stickers using a dumpling mold and they accused me of trying to pass off store bought pot stickers as my own creation. Why would I lie about something that trivial? (answer: practice)
I like how they can't hand someone praise without reaching out and slapping at someone with the other.
Also good: since it's Trump, not Obama, we don't face eternity listening to people talk about that time the president let terrorists into the country without even going through customs!
