The minimum wage keeps people dependent on big government and living a life style beyond their means.

For example, Cousin Bobby the OxyContin addict has been collecting government benefits, because he says the injury that got him prescribed painkillers in the first place kept him from working. Now he's feeling better and could work a bit, but because he's hooked on "hillbilly heroine" no one wants to pay him the princely sum of $7.25/hr.

Without the minimum wage Cousin Bobby could get off of government benefits as people, who want to employ him but pay him say $2.00/hr could legally hire him.

Now you may ask how a person can live on $2.00/hr? Well part of the problem in the U.S.A. is housing costs get artificially inflated by "add-ons" that other people all over the world live without very comfortably, such as electricity, running water / indoor plumbing, and non-wood burning stove sources of heating.

We've created a situation of perpetuating government dependence by the minimum wage and having housing sport non-essential "add-ons".

Too bad the MSM and other liberal outlets fail to report this obvious truth.

NEXT WEEK: Chapter 2: Why child labor laws perpetuate government dependence. Or: What's the point of poor people having kids, if they are not put to work to support the family? Am I right or what.

Included in Chapter 2 will be a discussion on repealing mandatory education. You cannot have a permanent underclass without high illiteracy rates.

The problem with fining poor people is self-evident.

Get a boat, instead. People who live on the water are mobile and not easy to corral or control.

How can they when the SOB just took away the voting rights of 200,000 constituents! None of those people never even knew they got their voting rights restored in the first place! So this jagoff knew that ran for office and killed legislation so they would not get the chance to vote his scummy ass out of office all the while impaling every minority in the state with a red hot poker!!! I only have one thing to say. . . .

But not Louisiana. Their Governor ran on a campaign of expanding Medicaid and won. He beat his opponent head-to-head on nearly every issue but guns and immigration.

Shortly after being elected he demanded that the legislators repudiate their Grover Norquist pledges, describing the pledge as an act of disloyalty. He wants to build commuter rail.

I suppose this would be a hopeful sign to many, but I am a "glass half empty" kind of guy; if Louisiana is the beacon of sanity by comparison, what hope do we have?

I'd like to think this - and Rick Snyder, Rick Scott, Scott Walker and on and on - would be a wakey wakey to all the Bernie Or I Quit people. But it won't. The kind of citizen who stays home sulking on Civic Participation Day is so old the ancient Greeks had a word for it: "Idiot".

Meh. Purity. Is the Dem better than the Repub avail? if yes (and these days it's always yes), then vote for them. After that, get involved in the actual Party politics to get better people selected as the Dem nominee, then get them elected.

Because a lot of people's lives are getting fucked over in a lot of places to 'teach Dems a lesson' in the meantime, that they don't seem to be learning.
