We focus today on House Minority Leader and second most ineptly dangerous McCarthy, behind "Anti-Vax" Jenny, Kevin McCarthy. Appearing on CBS's "Face The Nation" with Margaret Brennan, McCarthy first tried to make a case for why Donald Trump Jr. should not have been subpoenaed by the Senate Intelligence Committee:
BRENNAN: But, leader, let's-- let's talk about one of the things that we laid out there in the open, which is this decision to ask Donald Trump Jr. to come back to answer questions related to previous answers he had given to the Senate Intelligence Committee. You've said it's time to move on. But, if Congress hasn't finished its own investigation, how can you say that?
MCCARTHY: But, they have-- they have finished the investigation.
BRENNAN: The Senate Intelligence Committee hasn't finished its work.
MCCARTHY: But think about why the Senate is doing this. Donald Trump Jr. has spent 27 hours already testifying. They're requesting him back based upon something that Cohen has said, when he is in jail for lying to Congress. But Cohen was talking about a meeting he wasn't even at. So that is why I believe we should move on. And if the Senate hasn't finished--
McCarthy seems to be confused as to why Cohen LIED to Congress. He lied on behalf of "Individual One" who was clearly identified as Donald Trump by the Southern District of New York. The lies were specifically about a deal for Trump Tower Moscow continuing while he was running for president and Russia was escalating election sabotage in 2016. So the insistence of McCarthy and others in the GOP on using Cohen's lying as a way to exonerate Trump is woefully misguided. Of course this should not be very surprising for McCarthy:
Remember this? When McCarthy accidentally hypothesized Trump (and former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher) were useful idiots/puppets of Putin? McCarthy has a funny way of slipping up and telling the truth/saying the inner part out loud when he thinks it's "safe." McCarthy seems to be confused about the difference between Congress's duty as a co-equal branch of government and the Mueller investigation, which had a limited scope and could not charge the sitting president due to some bullshit Department of Justice policy.
Margaret Brennan tried her best to explain why the Senate Intel Committee wants to do this but McCarthy seemed to be obsessed with how long Junior had testified before:
BRENNAN: But this, again, is a Republican-led committee that went forward with a subpoena. Bob Mueller never interviewed Donald Trump Jr. But this committee did. If there were no--
MCCARTHY: For twenty-seven hours.
BRENNAN: Sure, and if there were no charges brought, why not just respect the mandate of Congress and come back and answer the questions? You sound like you're saying he's too busy.
MCCARTHY: No, I'm not saying he's too-- I'm saying the Mueller--
BRENNAN: Why does the number of hours matter?
MCCARTHY: The Mueller Report-- because, if you've ever interviewed an individual 27 hours, you get to the point of everything you've asked. The other part the Mueller--
BRENNAN: The senators say they haven't had a chance to ask the questions themselves, only their staff did.
I'm sorry, but 27 hours? Seriously? Hillary did way more than that on the in the total of the Benghazi investigations! Hell, she did 11 hours live on TV for the world to see. But McCarthy then tried a new strategy- changing the subject:
MCCARTHY: You have more jobs being offered--
BRENNAN: But a hostile--
MCCARTHY: --than people actually looking.
BRENNAN: --foreign power interfered in our democracy.
MCCARTHY: No.
BRENNAN: That was the purpose--
MCCARTHY: You just--
BRENNAN: --of this probe-- probe in the first place.
MCCARTHY: Yeah, but you just had--
BRENNAN: And you have--
MCCARTHY: You just had that answered by the Mueller report.
BRENNAN: The Senate--
MCCARTHY: There was no collusion and there's no obstruction.
BRENNAN: But Senator Marco Rubio, who sits on this Intelligence Committee, has said Republicans who are criticizing this are-- are fundamentally, misunderstanding the intent of the committee investigation, that it is focused on this question of a foreign power interfering.
Brennan at this point then decided to ask a very important question after McCarthy's insistence that we "move on" from the Mueller investigation. It is here that McCarthy reveals his (and the GOP's) under lying hypocrisy:
BRENNAN: So do you disagree then with some of your fellow Republicans who say they want to investigate the origins of the investigation?
MCCARTHY: No, I think that's very important from the origin of the investigation--
BRENNAN: So it's not--
MCCARTHY: --of where you go.
BRENNAN: --time to move on?
There it is! The GOP wants you to forget the Mueller Report so THEY can investigate the investigators. Why? same real reason for the Benghazi investigations. The same reason that Kevin McCarthy was never House Speaker because he was too dumb and admitted it on national television.
You know it's bad when you're so stupid, you had to be replaced with one of the most spineless House speakers ever, Paul Ryan. Watch the full clip below for the full McCarthy idiocy.
And since we are talking about hypocrisy, Donald Trump Jr., and the Senate Intelligence Committee, here is John McCain's former BFF and current top Trump sycophant senator Lindsey Graham giving the worst legal advice imaginable:
GRAHAM: If I were Donald Trump Jr.'s lawyer, I would tell him, you don't need to go back into this environment anymore. You've been there for hours and hours and nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation. I would call it a day.
Or as Jake Tapper aptly put it:

The SCOTUS, like everything else the disease has touched, is illegitimate.
We can have them take the spaces now inhabited by low level drug possesion sentencing victims.
