Eh. My parents' church in Kentucky got tossed from the SBC after their pastor started doing his godly duty of marrying people that loved each other and committed their lives to each other. They haven't been missed thus far.
And since it sounds fairly complicated, it makes sense that it might take them two years (not four, because he didn't stop working there until 2018, and the theft might not have come to light until then) to complete the investigation. Especially because he's a politician, the authorities aren't going to make a move until all their i's are dotted and t's crossed.
I went to elementary school in 1957 with a girl named Darra Dismuke. Very respectable UMC Tampa family, Episcopal.
