I met a history professor from Kansas at a conference... it must have been in 2018 but it seems so long ago now. He said that that in Kansas the conservative movement's back was broken, and it would no longer be the threat that it once was. I was pretty dubious about it, but the more time passes the more I think he was right. I should know to trust a historian. They always have the long view.
