It was one thing in the original days when it was hard to get air time because there just were not that many mics open. Now, every Tom, Dick and Sally has a hand held broadcast studio and the platforms for broadcasting are ubiquitous. So how do you get some blow hole pol to show up in a DC studio at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning? You offer them 1/2 hour of softball questions that they can answer with talking points of the day. NBC is just filling air time.
