Brother, then you know the kind of street gangs I'm talking about. RESPECT! Our Indians were mostly Italian and Jewish, but that didn't make them any less dangerous, they just had better hair and more guilt.

People upset by this need to become familiar with another hand gesture the mayor probably wants to make right now.

One can easily see how this makes the bad guys cocky, putting those police officers "at risk".

Yes, that's right, she's endangering cops and kids, because gang-bangers always consider how friendly the mayor is before murdering people.

If you look closely, you'll see that she is not merely "pointing". Notice the way she elevates her thumb, that's what makes this a gang sign. When I was a young boy growing up on the mean streets of Philly, I was involved in the gang culture and that sign was the exact one we used. Our gang was the "Cowboys" and we would often rumble with the "Indians". If a member of the opposing gang made that sign in your direction you new he meant to cap your ass.

I watched my best friend, Rusty, take one of those from an "Indian" and he dropped over in the street. Luckily he was playing dead so he was able to make it home for dinner in time without getting yelled at, but it was a close one. I'm not proud of this, but I myself used that sign and it meant more than a few "Indians" weren't going to get to the end of the fight.

I can see why the cops are so upset. You'd have to be a child, or a group of children, to think that sign was just an innocent gesture.
