In an environment in which the "President" tells the police that they should beat up suspects more frequently, it is no surprise that the "beat up" list gets expanded.
My Godfather was a silk screener and he printed everything for the Sheriffs, PD and all. I had an office in that building. They came at all hours with at least beer whenever their shifts ended. 7:00 AM no different than PM. They drank and got up and drove after passing out gum.The Captain, he was cool, drank with us after work and specifically said that his own guys were jerks and not to trust them past the curb to our building.
We also installed stereos for lots of them and without a doubt, had to throw the empties in the floor out of the way to do it.The 'Baton' Club was violent AF and proud of it.
San Bernardino was a mean jail and far from some Podunk outfit.
I also lived in the hood that had lots of cops and firemen types. Similar incomes. I partied with them a lot for 10 years and did remodels for them and all the typical family neighborhood stuff. Point is, I knew them quite well and witnessed and heard way too much at lots of parties.
Anyone remember the Rampart Division scandal, also courtesy of LAPD? Next thing you know there will be a story on corruption in the NOLA PD (yes shocking, I know). Funny how the more things change the more they stay the same.
Was trying to remember the name Rampart. Then again, they've been doing is since, well, since there was a Los Angeles Police Force: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
Not to mention the police coverups of rapes and drunk driving by high school athletes in small towns. Foxborough, MA I am looking at you.
Sadly, I had to tell my sons not to trust the police and to expect the worst during any interactions with them.
You mean LAPD cops are NOT like Jack Webb and Harry Morgan as Sgt. Joe Friday and Detective Bill Gannon?I'm shocked. Shocked to my foundation.
This is too true to be funny, but...

Man, I evidently did all my copping the wrong way.
That's what needs to happen to the entire justice system.
Which proves it's wrong.

LAPD has been corrupt and racist forever.
Hard to believe that Gene Roddenberry (PBUH) was once a part of the LAPD.

Yeah not like they weren't caught on video ganging up and beating a black guy to a bloody pulp, resulting in much of LA being burned to the ground.

I'm sure the president's personal AG would say those kids need to respect the cops more, or worse things will happen.
