2. Nevertheless, I must point out that many individual black Americans still suffer ill effects of systemic inequality, both current and historical. As human beings, they deserve to have these ill effects taken seriously, and mitigated where possible.
I would like please to point out that <em>you cannot go to jail</em> for simple non-payment of taxes.
You can go to jail for <em>lying on your tax returns</em>, but if you correctly and timely file, but refuse to pay, you cannot go to jail. You will very likely have your wages garnished and/or funds seized from your bank account, but that is different.
