Hope you don't get this twice. I just typed this and Diskus dropped it.I have seen all this behavior - it must be Deep Cat behavior - the jumping, the body rubs the nose to nose thing.I almost took poor Sparkplug back to the shelter today but they are not open. But then I thought - well, it's not getting better but it is also not getting worse. Coug almost seems to be dealing with it. I hope it doesI think it is stressful for the Old One but I also sort of think it might help him - he will have to draw on his Inner Resources to get through this.

Our Old Guy is only 12. His litter mate brother died suddenly last year. He seemed upset for quite a while, crying piteously. That died down and then much later we got the kittens. We were very carefully introducing them because he had been so rough on a little girl cat we had at the time we had to keep them in separate parts of the house. Because Cougar is 19, I see the thinking behind leaving him be. But if they aren't hurting one another, you might wait a bit to see if it improves. If not, I'd probably pack it in but you need to do what feels right to you.

Anyway, love to Cougar and Sparkplug from the Little Black Girl Nora Who Has Lots of Medical Problems Even Though She's Only Seven Months Old, Little Black and Fawn Striped Guy Jack Who Acts Like a Tiny Grenade With the Pin Pulled, and Old Ocicat Guy Sasha Who Hates to Take His Daily Dose of Gabapentin.
