At this point, Cheetolini's followers are mostly fundagelicals, fleeced by...er, told to do so by their "spiritual leaders". At this point, they've given up logic, facts, family relationships, self respect, any idea of a shared history... It's a sunk cost problem. If they turn their back on him now, they have nothing left.
I wonder how the question was phrased and how the votes where counted, Was it "on a scale of one to ten, how trustworthy would you rate 1) trump 2) your family 3) your church 4) some rando on the internet..."
The poll also found that Trump voters are more likely to believe that Trump is telling them the truth than they are to trust their own family members, religious leaders, and even members of the conservative media.
Ah Jeez, coolade drinking death cults promising ascending to the next plane? Why take all that risk when instead you can just take the ticket that explodes. Many excellent sacraments exist both natural and man made. But remember they are mearly short cuts that years of meditation can do said same and I dare say more. But Man is an impatient beast at best so I say sacrament away. But be careful what you ask for though, set and setting and if you're a n00b a good sitter is highly recommended. Be careful and aware of the strength and duration of your choice of sacraments. Some are a nice short easy ride others you better have lots of water, some adult Huggies, and a experienced Shaman at hand. In fact for best self discovery and healing a good trusted friend or even a licensed therapist is most helpful. Always take sacraments with a pre-planned intention in mind. Sure they are good for shits and giggles at the rock show but adult intentions usually produce adult results. With Love my friends, with love.
Trumpers are delusional liars like Trump. Family & friends, religious leaders, even sometimes Fox news, they all have a habit of not accepting their lies and delusions, and harassing them with reality. Trump only ever did that once, about the vaccine, and he stopped as soon as they booed him.
Since they are liars, any responses to survey are lies. They do not "feel" what Trump is telling them is true. They love his lies, and they reward him with lies he wants to hear, like the results of the survey. Asking them about anything is a waste of time, they will just lie.
Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. It would fit the observations. But they sure act like they're breaking the First Commandment, and on Jan. 6 a lot of them followed through on what they were saying.
I love her story about him telling lies about her being a drug addict to Melania right in front of her. Some people just dream of being able to constantly pull shit out of their ass with impunity, and Trump is living the dream. At least for now...
In the Nazi era, this was known as the "Fuehrerprinzip", one needs to offer complete allegiance to the Fuehrer, the embodiment of the people, and anything the Fuehrer says is the truth, regardless of what you have known or thought to this point.
We have been in Weimar for some time (and of course, their Fuehrer also sat in jail for a while).
One "never read the comments" lesson was when I read a reply on George Conway's Twitter feed from someone angry that "the left" was prosecuting Trump for doing nothing more than what Hitler did.
I thought I had saved the video, but apparently I hadn't. Perhaps someone else has. Someone was interviewing a "christian" trumplady, and asked her what she would do if Jesus came back and told her Biden was better (not quoting exactly). She said she wouldn't believe him, and would stick to TFFG.
I was greatly surprised to see an Op Ed in the Charlotte Observer, my home town that is very religious. Hard to believe but I think that this could be the way for the church to make it clear to these folks. It's pretty much blasphemous as well the clarion call of "following false prophets" even.
What I want my evangelical Christian friends to know about Trump | Opinion
I wish they would understand, but I fear they will not. There are many voices of reason, but they don't get the air time - most anywhere. When do you see national coverage of some stance that Faithful America has taken, for example? It doesn't help when the "liberal media" colludes with the christian nationalists who are neither Christian nor patriotic. Thank you very much for the article.
It also, as an aside, brought back memories of a friend who has left this life. She lived in NC, and used to send me articles from the Charlotte Observer, all the time.
After Jimmy Carter, who was a response to Watergate, the Democrats wandered in the wilderness, apathetic toward the people they chose to run for president, always because the candidate wasn't JFK. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar among the Republican base post Trump.
The truth is that hate is a greater unifier than love. More people can agree on a hated object than agree on a loved object because hate is more one dimensional than love. Idolatry is not love, I think…it is actually another avenue that is led by hate.
Conventional wisdom and a thousand Cletus safaris tell us that trumpcult are lost people who long for acceptance and community, but look at all the people they mistrust? They can't/won't even trust each other. What they crave is a master/slave relationship with him alone. For all their pathological tribalism, even the tribe is a very very distant second.
Looks like "acceptance and community" can be filed next to "economic anxiety" in the trash can of failed rationalizations.
The law of diminishing returns.
"but they are apt in this way."
I think it's the BEST way to describe Trump followers.
Thank you, Robyn, for introducing a new word (hybristophilia) to me and defining it so hilariously.

At this point, if Trump were to start financially supporting the participants of Jan 6 it would probably look an awful lot like witness tampering.
Excellent point. However, he is supposedly footing the legal bills of the others recently charged in the Mar A Largo case.

Poor dears.
"Considering Trump"?? They aren't "considering" anything other than "what's the answer that will piss off the Dems most?"
We lived on the mar part of that peninsula for 4 years in the 80s. Still miss it there.

IOW, a cult.

Jeez maybe start with the good news next will ya. I was developing cold sweats until I read that last bit.

They probably told everyone they knew that they were going take back the country or die trying. Biden is president and they are still alive. Liars.
Ted Nugent on Line 1.
They enjoy living in the fantasy
Or at least count. That there are more of them is one of their most consistent delusions.
I forget who said it first, but "Obama challenged America to be better, Trump gave them permission to be worse"

What will all these idiots do when he inevitably chokes on a hamberder and dies?
They'll "Weekend At Bernie's" him, more than likely

I sure am looking forward to finding out.
They will honor the king of lies with more lies, such as he was assassinated by Hilary, he faked his death to go after Tom Hanks, etc.

Imagine going through life being that deluded.
