Technically, I'm a hillbilly, not a redneck, and a liberal. I'm pretty sure he's more right than wrong. The coastal progressives have always treated the blue-collar crowd with a "we know better than you what's good for you" attitude. And sometimes they're right, they do. But that's what he's appealing to: get above the feelings of be condescended to, get above the feelings that you're not welcome in the progressive culture, and don't fall for the Orange One's line of bullshit.
