Yup. to my eye, anyway, '60s Italian design was the zenith, and it all went to pot when Gandini went nuts with the Countach (which was stunning in its own way). But since, everybody's been churning out stuff that resembles nothing so much as the prints on Calvin's Lucky Rocketship Underpants. Bleagh.*exception: Under the tutelage of Ferrari, Maserati's recaptured those classic proportions quite nicely throughout the range; and Alfa's 4c gets back to the best of growly mid-engine (246/308) simplicity, so chalk one up for Pininfarina, and the in-house kids at Alfa, but Bertone's been shitting the bed for a while, now.
