Ta, Dok. I had to *force* myself to watch the video. See B S has *much* for which to answer, and Bari Weiss is welcome to go fuck herself, repeatedly, sans lube. Okay, with votes.
So Bari Weiss pulled a story for political reasons, except she forgot or didn't know how global distribution works and the story got out anyway. But since she pulled it from its U.S. airing, now we all know about it and are seeking it out - meaning possibly higher viewership than if she'd left well enough alone, and also depriving the network of the ad dollars they could have earned by airing it as planned. I mean, there is being bad at your job and then there's ... this.
A lot of the footage of the interior of CECOT that 60 Minutes used came from social media “influencers” who were given tours of the prison because that’s the kind of hellscape we’re living in today.
Bari Weiss' function is to play nice with Trump. Avoid any legal action. Trump's treatment of the media (lawsuits and intimidation) must be made illegal in the future. No elected official should ever again be able to silence the press. Even having to say those words seems insane to me.
I wish those John Birch assholes were right, and the one-world government was finally ready to descend in their black helicopters and force us to join the rest of civilized society.
I wonder which one of them "forgot" to tell Weiss about sending it to the Canadians, and how many other pieces they will "forget" to pull when she orders it.
OT: OldManClaire has CNN on downstairs. It's current headline is Kids Steal Car and Crash Into Home After Watching You Tube Videos.
Apparently, an 8 year old, an 11 year old, and a 12 year old watched videos on how to jack cars, stole one, had the police chasing them, and they ended up crashing into someone's house.
Somehow, this seems like a metaphor for the current state of the nation.
Bari has Streisand-ed the hell out of this. CBS - "Stenographers of the State". CECOT is not a prison, it's a USA-sanctioned torture center. A curious factoid uncovered by the Deportation Data Project - Violent offense history of detainees sent to CECOT was LOWER than of detainees NOT sent there. So much for the W-o-W theory. Democracy Now, as usual, has great in-depth coverage of this today.
Have only known about it for just over a year; it's 30 years old next year. Today's segment with Jasper Nathaniel documenting the olive-picking woman clubbed by settler thugs is a another hallmark of so much hard-hitting in-depth coverage they do.
It's no longer on the Internet Archive.

Thank you so much! Frankly, I think it's more watchable here, but I'm glad to get a source that appears more neutral for it.

Noem must be prosecuted for crimes against humanity and conspiracy to falsify evidence.
And we aren’t in the streets demanding people’s heads, why?
Because we're too comfortable with watching others suffer, so long as it's not us.
In case anyone has forgotten, Bari Weiss said she quit the NYT because of “cancel culture.”
Every accusation...

Funny that they thought we would never get this information.
In fairness to them, they are really stupid. Especially Bari Weiss.

It appears CBS has lost some of its mojo since Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. Maybe they are going for a more beige news show?
Under Weiss, CBS is officially dead as a news outlet.
I wish those John Birch assholes were right, and the one-world government was finally ready to descend in their black helicopters and force us to join the rest of civilized society.
I for one look forward to our helicopter conveyed overlords.
I'm still able to get it from Internet Archive.

same here. I came in to post it, thinking wonkette might be behind. nope! wonk all over it!
I wonder which one of them "forgot" to tell Weiss about sending it to the Canadians, and how many other pieces they will "forget" to pull when she orders it.
Make good trouble
it’s an exemplary piece of journalism, and no one inside CBS will see Weiss as anything other than a MAGA toad after this.
Toads are having their lawyer put together a cease and desist demand letter.
Too bad she can't cease and desist what's already all over the internet.
Hoping for malicious compliance. Is that possible?

This is why you need to give kids more video games. If they'd been allowed to play GTA Whatever, they wouldn't have needed to steal a car IRL.
Really, CNN? There isn't anything else going on that deserves your viewers' attention?
More crime spree news!
Mustn't make PAB mad.
Wouldn't want the little baby to have a tantrum. Fuckin' chickenshits.
Nah. This Administration is incapable of learning from videos.
You'll notice that German Shepherds all had the good sense to not get involved.

See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil.
Linus! Has gone fishing.
Geez. Kids these days! When I was a young, they had to figure that stuff out all on their own.
I mean, whatever happened to trial and error?
Especially the ages of the perpetrators.
Right?
"Maybe some other network will cover that story"
Paging MeidasTouch...
