We should quit giving Ben the attention he so desperately craves. Because we shouldn't enable him. And we can sneak a peek and enjoy his withdrawal agonies.
Considering the political activism of so many fundamentalist, (mostly) conservative, rally-giving, smack-talking religious "leaders," it's waaayyyy past time to do away with tax-exempt status for churches. We could grandfather in the real estate wealth and re-set the clock to start now.
Upvoting because I agree that tax exemption should just be removed completely.
As for the rest, while I agree that churches should be able to preach what they believe the Bible says, as despicable as that may be--and for right wing churches it's pretty foul not to mention dehumanizing--I also think it would be good for them to reap what they sow. So far, that hasn't happened. Jackass the Preacher gets up and preaches that gay people are horrible, and then the right screams that it's not right for secular society to say Jackass the Preacher shouldn't work at the local school because of his beliefs. Either Jackass the Preacher believes what he says, and therefore deserves the censure of society, or Jackass the Preacher doesn't. He doesn't get it both ways. Beto's stated policy sounds like an attempt to force Jackass the Preacher to be accountable. I'm in favor of THAT.

Shapiro has a child? Whelp, time to send in social services....
But but but wilful misrepresentation and a physical threat of violence gets all the clicks and ad revenue!
This is exactly what social services is for.
And that's *before* SWAT shows up.

Shapiro has slightly more sentience than Wohl. Just slightly.
I'm a middle-aged suburban lady.
I'd be happy to take Ben on in a fight... I would kick that whingey twerp's ass into next Thursday.
