I'm glad that PAB is wasting his time trying to get a sliver of Black voters while ignoring all those repub primary voters who chose anyone else but him.

"M"'s avatar

I'm not sure it's as important that Black people - most of whom know who and what he is - focus on what it is as it is that *White* people focus on that.

After all -- do you remember when he *staged* the appearance at that Black church but filled the audience with White people? -- his whole purpose in doing this appearance (other than more attempts to insult his opponent the Vice President) is not to do ANYTHING for Black people ... but *to convince White voters that by virtue of his so-called "willingness* to meet with Black journalists* that he's "not racist* ... when anyone with eyes and the willingness to see it understands EXACTLY how racist he is

(and his own nephew is doing interviews right now talking about how he has always been that racist dude)

Apparently not PAB:

"Asked by Fox News’ Harris Faulkner if his running mate would be “ready on day one” to step up as commander in chief, Trump side-stepped the question entirely.

“Historically, the vice president, in the terms of the election, does not have any impact. I mean virtually no impact,” he said. “Virtually never has it mattered.”"

Point taken, but PAB is referencing impact on the election. I think he is wrong in that though the selection might not help, but could detract (e.g., Sarah Palin). OTOH, I think Cheney was necessary to calm those concerned of W's competence, and Pence necessary to calm the fundagelicals.

Dump chose Pence because back then he knew he was totally unqualified to be POTUS, and was relying on the advice of others. Luckily this time, he'll have no guardrails on his stupidity. God help us all if he actually "wins" by losing by a few million votes.

"Protesters vandalize statues, fountain outside DC’s Union Station after Netanyahu’s speech

The National Park Service is removing graffiti and making repairs to statues and a fountain outside Washington, D.C.’s Union Station after protesters damaged them Wednesday when they converged on the city to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit."

"The Columbus Memorial Fountain in the circle outside the station was defaced with the words, "Hamas Is Coming," written in red paint. Other monuments, like the Freedom Bell and various statues, also suffered damage. FOX 5’s Stephanie Ramirez says law enforcement is preparing for more possible protests Thursday.

U.S. Capitol Police officers deployed pepper spray after they said some protesters became "violent" and "failed to obey" orders to move back from the police line."
