Since then, the WH has given up all pretense of ambition and embraced right wing stances on everything from immigration to foreign policy.
There's no reason to believe that the White House wasn't being 100% good-faith in its attempt to pass that draconian border bill, especially in a Washington that fetishizes bipartisanship.
