I think that if no candidate gets the majority of the electoral college vote it gets thrown to the House. With each state getting only one vote, so all you need is a gerrymandered GOP majority in a sate for it to go to Trump. Even if Trump lost the popular vote and therefore the electors in that state. The whole electoral college set up is screwed up. But I'm afraid it will never be changed because no state with a lower population will want to give up that outsized power where each state gets two votes due to each state having just two senators, whether they are Democratic or Republican, and approve the constitutional amendment required to change it.
I appreciated Rachel spending the entire first half of her show, explaining why she never, ever will ever agree with Liz Cheney on anything, except this one thing. It set the perfect tone.
