But it's no hanging matter, it's no capital crime ... - Wonkette

Hey everybody, what if your favorite newspaper reporter paid to have sex with a hooker? Oh, you don't have a favorite newspaper journalist? What about copy editors? Just think what would happen if one of the top copy editors got caught using the services of an escort agency. Oh, right. Nothing would happen. Nobody would care.

Anyway, it appears that somebody at the Chicago Tribune national desk spoke to DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey's escort agency, by phone, at some point. IT'S A SCANDALOUS OUTRAGE!

Also, something sort of funny just appeared on the Washington Post's internal CraigsList message board thing, according to the Washingtonian's Harry Jaffe:

"Hello Everyone," it begins invitingly.

It then explains that the phone numbers of the clients of "D.C. Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey have been posted on the Internet. It then says:

"If your phone number is among them, please contact Sue Anne Pressley Montes for an interview as soon as possible."

Unless it's Bob Woodward paying $300 to have his diaper changed, we just can't see this being all that interesting.

Meanwhile, former Post executive editor Ben Bradlee announced that he had personally fucked every one of Palfrey's college girls, and that they paid him .

Any Posties Among the Madam's Clients? [Washingtonian]
