I took a peek at "appeal to heaven" flags our friendly local internet retail monopoly, and after exhaustively researching for almost 3 minutes found that "Founding Fathers Flags" are made in China and of course other brands like Probsin, Zinvia and Arsof are untraceable, like the numerous questionable reviews that I'm guessing are just a side hustle for troll farms. All part of our are to the bottom. In a patriotic, originalist way, of course.

Other options. Fire every tangeranus appointee including DeJoy and Wray and everyone he appointed to any position anywhere. Arrest Thomas and Alito and Crow and charge them with bribery. Give all the J6 traitors, including Ginny Thomas, a blindfold and a cigarette, same with the congresspeople and senators that tried to invalidate the election, and send their families a bill. Same as tangeranus and his spawn. Make it known in no uncertain terms that any decision by the likes of Kaszmaryk will be ignored. Nationalize the Texas Guard and send in the COE to tear out all the razor wire and saw blades, then pull all federal funding of any kind out of red states. They want tyranny we shove it right up their fundament hard and fast. Can’t anybody here play this game?

Guess who just struck down the Voting Rights Act today. Yep, Samuel Alito.

Hey Evan, this isn’t an argument against the substance of anything you are saying, but we (as a culture) need a better phrase than “grow some dicks” because dicks are almost certainly the root of many of these problems and more of them will not help.

Let’s not bash dicks. It’s the terrible men attached to them that give them a bad name and are the problem. :)

Ta, Evan. How fucked up a parent does one have to be to name a daughter Martha-Ann, with a hyphen, no less?! I don't care if it's an old family name. No one should do that to a little girl. AND LOOK WHAT SHE'S GROWN INTO!!

"Dutch Sheets"

Haven't heard that name in a while. I think it was Josh Marshall at TPM that came up with this guy when Josh was going down a rabbit hole investigating the Russia, Russia Russia hoax. Josh turned up a lot of interesting people in those articles

Alito or his wife are flying that flag as more of a boast and a reminder to his critics that after his rulings* the lower class can appeal to gawd to bring them relief from their disenfranchisement .

*pave the road to our new feudalism 2.0 under a poor kicking "Christian" mob led and empowered by an untouchable orange king.

Alito's flag-upside-downing is disgraceful. Somehow, I doubt his views are any better than those of a lot of fools driving around in obscenely large pickup trucks proudly flying some weird-looking flag or other. The plain old regular-colors right-side-up American flag will always be good enough for me.

It’s cause for thought, alright: she has words with a neighbor, and is so traumatized that a distress signal is needed? Or are both of them just full of shit?

Sam, Martha-Ann, and the neighbor they accuse of calling her the c-word, all need to be hauled into a Senate hearing, and questioned, under oath, about this claim. I bet 10,000 Ameros it never happened. Sam Alito is a whining, sniveling coward who hates women and thinks making outlandish accusations will somehow excuse his treasonous behavior.

Unfortunately the solution isn't to be less enthusiastic about voting for democrats. If you don't you haven't cancelled out the vote of some seriously fucked up asshole.

The solution is to be more enthusiastic. Because when we are wishy-washy, they think they need to be “centrist”. If they feel supported, they can be brave. (Not that different than kindergartners really)

It has been frequently remarked, that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country to decide, by their conduct and example, the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not, of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend, for their political constitutions, on accident and force.

- Alexander Hamilton

This is a test, and we are failing.

The founders, and statesmen such as Lincoln later on, understood in a way many present-day Americans have evidently forgotten, that democracy or republican government is always a grand experiment. It's wonderful when it succeeds, but it can fail at any time when the people and their representatives are no longer worthy of it. There should be 100% agreement in this country that whatever we may think about a host of other issues, changing our fundamental form of government is off the table. Not 73.5% or whatever the hell the figure is at present.

I enjoy pointing out that Madison's argument against direct democracy was administrative, not political. He couldn't figure out how it could be done in the 18th century. Hence representative democracy

That is no longer a problem. Maybe it's time to abolish our legislatures entirely, and truly govern ourselves.

Disagree! Because if we let Alito and Thomas run hog-wild, we're looking at the return of TFG. And *he* will end the Supreme Court story, because he will have been declared to be above the law, and what use does such a person have for courts?
