Looks Like We Won't Have Blake Farenthold To Kick Around Anymore!
Today we say goodbye to Texas Congressman and footie pajama aficionado Blake Farenthold. Farenthold resigned on Friday, several months after it came out that he spent $84,000 in taxpayer money to pay off a settlement to Lauren Greene, his former communications director, who accused him of sexual harassment. Which is barely enough money to cover the cost of the Silkwood showers one would need to deal with that kind of trauma and ever feel clean again afterwards.
Supposedly, he is going to pay all of that money back.

Friday night, a spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan said Farenthold had committed to paying back the settlement.
"Mr. Farenthold made a commitment that he would reimburse taxpayers for the settlement," AshLee Strong said. "He reiterated his commitment to the speaker and the speaker expects him to follow through."
Within minutes of his resignation announcement, Farenthold appeared to have deleted his official Twitter account.
"While I planned on serving out the remainder of my term in Congress, I know in my heart it's time for me to move along and look for new ways to serve," he said in his statement Friday afternoon. "Leaving my service in the House, I'm able to look back at the entirety of my career in public office and say that it was well worthwhile."
How he's going to do it given that he's already sold his ownership of blow-me.org, we do not know.
But let us now remember all the good times we had with Blake Farenthold. The time he said he wasn't sure if it would be bad for someone to say "I like raping women," the time he said he wished Susan Collins were a man so he could challenge her to a duel, and also the time Susan Collins, a few days later, was caught on a hot mic calling him "so unattractive it’s unbelievable" and having a good laugh about how he wanted to duel her.
We wouldn't say they were good times, but they were, uh, something.
