Good thing I checked my registration! Checked the local website and I was not there! Have continuously voted by mail for many years. Called them and had to re-register. Not a big deal, but vigilance is needed now. I am in a solid blue state no less.
I watched after my voter registration like a hawk all summer and was relieved a week ago to get my mail-in ballot delivered by the letter carrier. I was even more relieved to see online that my county's elections office has now received my completed ballot in the mail. So glad to be on Virginia's permanent vote-by-mail list now -- a formerly unanticipated benefit of being old! (And of the hard work to elect a Dem-controlled state legislature and a Democratic governor in 2018 or so that made vote by mail available more broadly.)
"almost 10 percent of all the registrations in the state. Dang, that’s a lot of Tarheels! And election deniers would like to remove even more, if a judge would be so kind as to let them"
Anyone wanna bet that at least 95% of those stricken from registered voters' lists were Dems with a few indie voters thrown in for kicks and giggles?
As for a judge giving them permission to continue with their asshattery, those very fine folk wanting to purge as many Dems as possible are probably out judge shopping already.

The fact that there are ineligible voters on the books doesn't mean fraud:
All of the RINOs in the New GOP love to declare voter fraud by those they deem "the enemy" while paying a less than zero amount of interest when the fraud takes place by their own tribe members. A vast majority of those convicted of fraud committed during the 2020 supporters of the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus. Some of these came from that bastion of bipartisanship: The Villages in Florida.
My favorite, though, is the gentleman, Robert Rivernider, living near The Villages, who cast a ballot for his father who was dead because his father would have wanted it.
"A man has been charged with forgery and fraud after authorities say he cast a ballot in Florida for his deceased father in the 2020 election
...
Elections officials in Sumter County did not count the ballot because it was postmarked four days after the father died in mid-October 2020.... An examination of the father’s ballot showed the signature on it resembled that of his son’s and not any of the father’s previous ballot signatures" https://apnews.com/article/florida-voter-fraud-villages-desantis-3fee03e8cb17535ea5465e299c2c08b5
Rivernider committed voter fraud twice if he also cast his own ballot in 2020:
"Rivernider was convicted a decade ago in federal court in Connecticut of orchestrating a $20 million real estate flipping scheme and has still been paying restitution to dozens of victims. In Florida, felons must pay all fines, restitution and legal fees before they can regain their right to vote." ibid

Furthermore, I find it very interesting that NC law states that non-citizens are not a separate line item on the "Reason for Removal" list, but is counted as either "Request from voter" or "Other. This totals 3309 of the 747,274 purged, ~0.004%, a number that will, indubitably, sway the outcome in Nov.

"Making people question election integrity is the point, and the chaos is the point, so should their Super Duper Couper lose, there’s something to complain and play victim about."
The Fulvous Flatulence has already been raising the red flag of election fraud. In some small, dark, perverse corner of my brain I almost (*almost*) want to see the Mango Malignancy win so he will have to explain how, in light of his insistences of massive voter fraud, he won [turns head and spits three times between index and middle fingers]. I will not be gaslighted into believing that the MAGA GOTV efforts were great enough to overcome rampant voter fraud by the Dems.

(As a quick aside:
"Arizona Republican Congressman Juan Ciscomani released a statement regarding Vice President Kamala Harris' trip to the southern Arizona border.
Would Rep Ciscomani care to denounce Wausau, WI Mayor Diny's political theater of donning a hardhat and work gloves to remove a legitimately placed ballot drop-off box as anything else besides a photo op?)
Oklahoma has also purged 453,000 from voter rolls. I thought that sounded a little high...until I was the NC number here. Here's your needless reminder to check your reg status early and often.
I will never understand people who refuse to vote if I live to be 100. My generation was the first to get the vote at 18 and I've voted in every election since.
One thing, if you were the kind of person who respected sticking to your principles no matter what, this could be admirable. They get destroyed, but they do so honestly- they didn't back down, they said what they believed, and they got told to fuck off.
But they don't. They frequently betray what appear to be their principles because the real foundation of all their policies is their belief that they should be able to do whatever they want with no consequences, especially when that entails telling other people what to do.
I check every so often, but considering my area is both very white and very red, I don’t think there’s going to be any registration fuckery here.
I want to city hall to look into early voting, but that doesn’t start until October 22. Cutting it rather close, isn’t it? I want to stay away from the polls in case something does go down.
Thank from my Wisconsin absentee ballot went in the mail yesterday. Let's get this done.

It was around 475 out of 159,550,000 votes that were fraudulent. That’s 0.02% and most of the fraudulent voters were Rethuglican.

They can't win when they don't cheat. And then accuse Democrats of cheating at the same time because that is what cheaters DO.

Lazy and apathetic.
as I tell the youngs, "you may not care about politics, but politics most assuredly cares about you."
And that old chestnut from The West Wing, "The future belongs to those who show up."
Those cats should have a sign above them that says: Republicans are assholes. Change my mind.

Maybe we should change our policies so more people will vote for us.
Haha, no, we're just going to stop people from voting.

I check my status frequently, though I'm whiter-looking than Bela Lugosi. Because why not?
Connecticut is taking babby steps to early voting ... it starts October 21st. It's better than nothing, and includes two Saturdays.
If only there were a huge groundswell of support for early voting, vote-by-mail...
*Dances*
So when do I get to vote my way, when do I get to vote like Sinatra? In heaven or hell?
They'll introduce me, hello... hello...
Lobbyists seduce me and champange flows...
Love it! Also one of the greatest music videos ever:

Wait- Sinatra was in Sabbath after Dio?
