I have a friend in France who is Irish and has traveled the world in his work and chose France to live in because he loves it there. He had an arm injury and while he could avail himself of the FREE medical care he went to a local private clinic and paid $350 Euros for an MRI.
This isn't the future, it just isn't the present here. Oh, and his unlimited data Orange phone service is $15 Euros a month and has been for over a decade. Government regulation and services, what a curse.
Medicare premiums are going up $21.50/month ($258/year). A basic Blue Cross Advantage plan is (covers part D and other costs) is going up from $23/month to $65/month (an increase of $500/year).
That's over $1,500 for one person. For a married couple it's over $3,000 a year.
That's after paying into Medicare for 30 or 40 years.

Medbeds aren't a joke. There are people who believe they exist and are desperate to find one to cure their chronic or terminal illnesses, or those of someone they know. They're being given false hope and often forgo treatments that exist and work.
