For an odds-on wager, Clark never gave a damn about conditions in the Atlanta jail until he looked like going there.

Injustice and cruelty don't count until they happen to the wrong people.

Who else is the justice system for?

This is a horrible, awful, terrible time for our democracy and I just can't stop grinning.

Apparently both of them were ordered to surrender by Friday.

If sending letters to state officials falsely calming the FBI discovered outcome-determinative fraud is part of any job at the DOJ, I have some concerns.

O/T not sure if anyone's mentioned it but Roodles's GA lawyer, Brian Tevis, is now saying he won't commit to staying with his client through the trial

Ha, he illegibly signed the consent bond and his name wasn't even typed in.

Is this a cheap way to get a delay?

OH JEBUS I was not prepared for that. It's like Nosferatu and Old Man Wilkins from Scooby Doo had an ass-baby together.

And I'm still traumatized by the mental image Liz painted of Tuck & the PAB sharing a tub and popping each others' back pimples.

I'M DONE Y'ALL *glugglug sound of tequila pouring into a blender*

I notice that Clark and Meadows are among those listed as not having gotten consent bonds yet. Guess they really think they are going to win their "Don't Arrest Me, Bro" motions.

Also, Too, Jenna Ellis has now turned herself in.

Jeff, still got my guitar's avatar

I think Meadows might be a runner, who even knows where he is?

In a Mar-a-Lago shitter, cowering behind the toilet?

Incidentally, I am surprised that Liz misspelled "choose-pah."

I thought it had various spellings. Ashkenazi v. Sephardic v. Bronx v. Queens?

Closely related: 1/6 terrorist Jessica Watkins is asking her favorite congresscritters for help. Watkins is a trans woman in addition to being a 1/6 terrorist attacker, and she is afraid she is going to a men's prison. She is asking Greene, Jordans, and Gaetz on the former birdsite to help her get into a women's prison instead. I genuinely don't know if she understands that the congresscritters she supports won't want to help her, or that she might actually have a better chance at getting help if she appeals to President Biden.

Secret Agent Super Dragon's avatar

They’ll say she wants to go to a women’s prison because she’ll be able to compete with an unfair advantage and win all the prison medals

Revenant's avatar

Medals? What medals? Best pruno, most cigarettes smuggled to in by stuffing the lower colon, most creative shank?

Tosca's avatar

Wow. Her favourite congresscritters will INSIST she goes to a men's prison. She really has drunk the Kool aid, hasn't she?

Yeah, Beau Of The Fifth Column did a video about this situation this morning.

1st light's avatar

Beau of the Fifth Column did a piece on her. He says we are better than they are, and mtg & gym won't help.

meh's avatar

This is a situation where we ought not be better for a change, and let them taste their own bitter vetch.

Tosca's avatar

No. Would you say a cis woman should go to a men's prison? Then don't say it of a trans woman.

meh's avatar

Point. You are correct.

The urge to make MAGAts suffer that for which they have advocated is strong….and, I acknowledge, wrong. We have to take the high road, hard as it is sometimes.

Revenant's avatar

Just because it is the right thing to do, and to model for them how civilized people behave.

Tosca's avatar

No, because trans women ARE WOMEN. That's not contingent on their behaviour. There are NO circumstances where it's okay for a woman to serve time in a men's prison. That doesn't change just because the woman is trans.

meh's avatar

Though they'll read it as weakness and try to take advantage of it to their own ends.

It's inevitable.

Pope Buck I's avatar

I believe the Biden administration has already implemented new rules whereby trans prisoners get to choose which-gendered facility they will do their time in.

The response has been filed. You can almost hear a ghostly voice saying, "Well, allow me to retort ..."

Here's the conclusion of it, along with a link to it, for all you law nerds:

"The defendant seeks to avoid the inconvenience and unpleasantness of being arrested or subject to the mandatory State criminal process, but provides this Court no legal basis to justify those ends. Defendant is wrong on the law, wrong on the facts, and the Motion should be denied."

See, this is why Republicans should support the creation of a national agency like Elections Canada that's in charge of running federal elections. Then the next time they try to commit electoral fraud there will be more chance of it tried in a federal court.

tek's avatar

IANAL, but I think that would require a constitutional amendment

Richard S's avatar

We need a bunch of them anyway, so what's one more on the "To Do" list?

Revenant's avatar

Nice idea, but better wait until we have solid majorities in both houses of Congress and a majority of state legislatures. You know, the chuds have their own list.

OT-

Hmm...A trans person participated in J6 and there is a question on what type of prison she will serve her sentence. Will Gym and MTG help? Beau talks about this unusual situation.
