Not quite the revolution we had in mind The Electoral College votes today, and in spite of all the magical thinking out there, you probably shouldn't bet on any significant number of electors actually behaving like Alexander Hamilton intended and overriding the foolish choice of the people (in just the right number of states) and actually casting their votes to protect the nation from a popular but dangerous demagogue. There's no chance at all that 37 Republican electors are going to switch their votes, nuh-uh, no way. (Yes, this is where we cite Expert Political Pundit Our Girlfriend's reminder that nothing is certain or even makes sense in 2016.) But there's at least one brave Democratic elector from Maine who's going to buck the system and cast a rogue vote based on his conscience:
Essentially every time Susan Sarandon has opened her mouth. And it's particularly funny because she's one of the ones who were so defiantly clueless that they just assumed Obama was a super-radical leftist because, you know, not white.
it's all part of the 'pick the battles you can win' strategy...see?...it's right there in the progressive play book!...khaa-rhyst, no wonder the fascists have won--like taking candy from squabling babbies, no?
Right. Working people won't get a living wage, but underemployed kids can whine like a power drill stuck in cement about their feefees until everyone else gets tired of the toddler bullshit and moves on. It's mad progressive.
I had a slightly different reading: not that Bright was saying Bernie and his supporters lost *because* the “Democratic Party had not listened to them, did not care about them, and did not respect them.” but that *after* all that happened that's how they felt-- and they had some pretty decent reasons to feel that way!
But if I were at risk of losing my faith in the system, the electoral college just voting however they please would probably wouldn't help.
We will never get the perfect fucking candidate.. I am tired being diplomatic about simple shit.
The GOP should not have a fucking leg to stand on, especially this year.
The enemy is not the person who has healthcare expansion on her agenda. The enemy is not the person who wants to save the social safety net.The enemy is not the person who wants further investment in renewables and strengthen environmental laws. The enemy is not the person with workable solutions and ideas to address the culture in Wall St.The enemy is not the person who wants to invest in our greatest resource - human capital.
We don't get to play cute about trite shit when we're in the minority. We vote strategically. Once we have the numbers we need we can focus on trite shit.
And Russia didn't play a part? Comey didn't play a part? They all played a part - she got falsely equivocated with Trump didn't she? And far left numpties piled on the bullshit on her and for what? How come I could get a fucking clue and others couldn't? folks can miss me with the narcissistic bullshit because their homeboy didn't win the primaries .
She ran a clean campaign, she won the debates, she had solid policy proposals. If you want to complain about stupid "rigged primaries", go have a conversation with PUMA08 and they'll have stories to tell - and they also needed to get a fucking clue, because after their noise they did nothing to change the status quo..
We did this same handwringing and doubting in 2000, 2010, 2012, 2014. I'm frankly sick of it and sick of leftists not getting a fucking clue for decades. Why is the GOP still even fucking alive for fuck's sake -
Because we are fucking clueless. And I am not sorry for the strong language, it suits the year of fuckery that is 2016.
Without the Returdlican 22nd Amendment we would electing My Hussein to his third term.
So, real courage of his convictions kind of dudebro?

because this is the last day those will be encouraged or allowed?

"... and then, if he asks me to serve as secy of state in his admin, i'll put aside our differences and do what's best for our country..." (implied)

And no, we’re not gonna re-litigate that all over again here — we already had our piss-n-moan thread after the election and we are over that.
Yeah, I believe you. The problem is that so many faux-gressives are not and are determined to prevent the rest of the cou try from doing so.
badkitty is always on point, even when deadly serious.
Sigh.
That sounds like the most corrupt way to do it ever ...
at least she shoved it to Hillary because Hillary didn't fulfill a promise she made to Susan..
who cares if the republicans gut the social safety net..who cares if millions suffer...
All that matters is Hillary gettin hers!
Look progressives need to get a damn clue okay.
