Majority of Americans Hate America

The President's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34% . This puts him somewhere between chiropractors and bankers in terms of public respect. On the bright side, though, he's still beating out HMO managers and insurance salesmen -- a good politician always makes sure to poll more favorably than his donors, after all.
TheTimesadds a bit more perspective :
Previous presidents have had similar or worse numbers as their nadirs. The Gallup Poll had a 24 percent approval rating for Richard M. Nixon in July 1974. The low point for Jimmy Carter in polls conducted by The Times and CBS News was 26 percent in July 1979.
Great! He's still beating Nixon and Carter! Now let's all go back to discussing the President's legislative agenda. As long as that doesn't mean the Ports thing. That doesn't count.
