"you made a snap judgment and said something a little bit silly and it doesn't really pass critical examination."

Speaking of snap judgements....

"If you can't see loveliness in the natural world"

I see it all the time. I am *addicted* to nature documentaries. But as a science graduate, married to a zoologist with whom I share an interest in nature, natural behaviour etc, I refuse to get dewy eyed over everything a wild animal does, even when I find it amazing. That footage of orcas killing seals in incredible, and the orcas are wicked smart, but similarly, it's not 'lovely'. Nature doesn't need to be lovely, to be valued.

The road runner here is awesome. Its relationship with the human is fascinating.

All - the totality of, nothing more or less - I was saying is that a picture of a bird with a dead mouse in its beak did not reach the level of 'lovely'. Interesting, yes. Nice to see the road runner win one more battle to survive.

You and the others are beating a horse which is not even dead, but imaginary.

Being a "science graduate" and being married to a zoologist aren't qualifiers for expertise in observing the natural world. If everyone else sees something you don't, maybe you're not taking a good enough look: scientists don't dismiss data countrary to their hypothesis, especially when it's literally all the data.
