You can't handle the minor change in nomenclature! Oh, noes, the Marine Corps has been overcome by political correctness, and now that they're openly recruiting A Few Good Women for combat jobs, the brass have handed down a whole new list of job titles
Women are supposed to make better assassins I've heard. I guess waiting on a man to do something stupid is a skill that many women become familiar with. Nice to know that the Soviet Army was over half a century ahead of us on this front though.
Ann Leckie's outstanding Ancillary Justice uses "she" as the default pronoun, and the main character's dominant spacefaring culture makes no linguistic distinctions regarding gender. This causes the main character occasional awkward moments on an outback planet where calling a male "her" could be an insult worth fighting over.
When The Hurt Locker first came out I heard a review of it on NPR and really wanted to see it. I couldn't remember the name of the movie and at some point told a friend I was looking forward to seeing The Pain Box when I got the chance.

DuffleBlog is a national treasure.
Heh: "Her comments were in keeping with the infantry tradition of hatred and contempt towards just about everyone and everything else."

That said, I would totally go see The Pain Box.
