A lot of used record stores will go through them then sell them for big bucks. You see them pop up in commercials all the time, pretty much the prototype for vintage audio. Check the prices on ebay nowadays, not so mid-priced anymore. I mean yeah, compared to what McIntosh and other stuff is going for, but Marantz receivers are getting top dollar.

Less so in our French education system.Although. Still easier to become physician/pharmacist/veterinarian if you are from a rich family. Better if one of your parents are themselves physician/pharmacist/veterinarian.The education may be mostly free, but you still have to eat and sleep. And getting your medical office/pharmacy/vet clinic open has some high costs.

you left out some jobs that are essential

- nurses (they do all the things doctors can't or won't do)- scientists (without them we would still be banging rocks together)- engineers (someone has to translate between the scientists and the builders and makers)- police (because there's always someone)- firemen (things happen)

and we do need someone to be the government because i don't want to pave 37 square feet of road, 19 square inches of sidewalk, provide one small beam for a bridge, inspect local businesses for health and safety violations or spend a few hours every month running the local sewage plant . . . some things can only be done efficiently by government.

it is closer to the water but that in no way makes those parking spaces reserved for water only activities. the boaters and kayak'er don't pay a premium price to enter the park ( $10 bucks on weekends, but if smart you buy the all parks parking pass @ 65 dollars)...so if you luck out and get a space nearby, cool, if not, well, you're footing it.

the lots is mostly populated by dog walkers who in my opinion are the lowest end of the totem. apparently horsey riders are at the top.

oh i hate those bicyclists too, i call 'em roadies. they have even invade my sanctum, i.e. the trails in the woods because some silly biking magazine said to them riding mountain bikes or riding mountain bikes trails will make them a more well-rounded cyclists.

a true blue mountain bikers gives no shits about being well-rounded, we usually tend to be rough around the edges, are not health nuts like the roadies ( for example having pizza without cheese, uh what the everliving fuck???) and for the most part our packs are groups of two or fours not 15 or 20 dickheads.

i once got into it with some roadie dicks who seem to be clueless about mtb'ing etiquette, like you DONT FUCKING BLOCK THE TRAILHEAD WITH YOUR DOUCHEY SPANDEXY FUCKS SELVES. anyway longer story short, guy decide to push hand, finger in my chest, and when he realized I was solid as a brick, he and his 10 skinny fuck friends backed the fuck down. sometimes you win fights without having to fight.

Ive been thinking about this for the last few weeks. Fewer workers means richer workers. This is a gruesome way to accomplish that end, but it sure does put in stark relief not only the wage problem, but also the abortion problem.

We just adopted out one of those from our shelter. I had to explain to the person in charge of adoptable cats why there are odd-eyed white cats and that yes, he could hear. She was under the impression that all white cats were deaf. Geez.
