Were you aware of the daily life of the man who killed Geo. Floyd? He stood around at his job no doubt, and stood around at many side jobs too, lording it over whoever. His income was huge. l imagine that all in all, he considered himself far above regular people-- almost like he was a guy who didn't have to work, because he must have been evading all the work rules, not just the 'don't murder' ones. And the result of feeling that way is what we all saw. Oh, and now there's a law someplace against videotaping policemen at their jobs. Which is bound to catch on. Because how dare they record a policeman beating up people?

Yes, I lived in Rochester. They should have just left Samuel's words alone.

Like I said, camera technology on phones continues to get better and better. You won't have to stand eight feet away to get those videos.

You'll have to get by with my best wishes. And we know what those are worth...

When I did home health care, in Michigan, I had to pass a background check. It came back negative. The State Patrol was doing these, and I went to see them. "Oh," they said. "We couldn't find anything on you, so we couldn't approve". Apparently, ten years in Michigan without any illegal activity was too long to be believed. I went home and wept for my inadequacy in anti-societal behaviour...

Like it or not, "Police officer" is a very important job. As such it should be a professionally licensed occupation. Just like Attorney, Physician, Nurse, Cosmetologist, Barber, etc. there needs to be a State regulated prescribed course of initial education. I would think 2 years at a minimum, followed by both written and practical exams, periodic license renewals and continuing education requirements. We expect that much of manicurists.
