Mother of Thor- I've taught Social Sciences for 25 years, which according to Trump logic makes me a board certified epidemiologist apparently. Outstanding. Maybe one of the students I've taught over the years will write the Pulitzer-winning book on this train wreck of an administration...

Untested people with flu or the heebie-jeebies could take HCQ and think they were cured of covid-19 when their flu gets better. Enough people to wreck the CDC effort? Make the Prez a hero for about two weeks? Doom a few million people? What do you have to lose?About anecdotal evidence. Antidote is an unrelated word.

So if this drug is so effective in treating the virus, why are people taking it for lupus suddenly being denied access to it? (It doesn’t work on the virus, btw). My mother, in NM, was recently told by her doc that she wouldn’t be able to prescribe her the drug any longer and that they needed to work out an alternative plan, because somehow, despite no mandated legal regulation that I’ve been able to find, they’ve been told not to prescribe it for anything other than coronavirus, and not to refill existing prescriptions for patients using it for other conditions.

I can understand limiting the quantities of the drug prescribed in order to keep people from misusing or hoarding it. But the existing prescriptions for patients using it otherwise, at doses that are effective for them, need to be continued. These are medical decisions and need to be given exemptions. And if the FDA or Trump administration is issuing secretive orders to certain medical entities, or if there are medical provider networks making their own blanket policies, it should result in legal actions.

Dr. Oz is a heart surgeon. Teaches at Columbia University medical school.

And still has time for a TV show, and appearances on Fox News.

He must be the hardest working man in show business.

Can she report this to her state board of medicine?

Doesn’t sound right, at all

No it doesn't.

Dunno if it would do any good right now. New Mexico has extremely limited medical care due to a lack of doctors. And now a whole lot of it is being taken over by Presbyterian. Getting appointments, even in such a sparsely populated state, in its biggest city (town), Albuquerque, is difficult. I am guessing that the medical board is probably safe and sound sitting at home, and working on a limited schedule, with little effort towards investigation of complaints or oversight.

On Dr. Oz, AFQ* saying lupus doctors are astonished that anyone’s saying this stuff might be a hazard:

It would surprise me if lupus doctors were surprised at that, more. They know the drug, and they know it can be pretty nasty. And lots of necessary medications, it goes like that. There’s a tradeoff.

Anyway/more to the point: one thing we know lupus doctors are astonished at is that anyone would imagine this stuff would be prophylactic against Covid-19...

... as reported in that statnews factsheet above. Since they’ve lots of patients who take it regularly who’ve since tested positive.

(*Asshole Fucking Quack)
