John McCain's national political director -- a guy who's stuck by him for years -- has stepped down to, no joke, spend more time with his family. Oh, he still promises to help out with campaign however he can (bake sales, car washes, etc.), but he'd much rather move back to New Hampshire and relax with the kids than drive himself to an early grave propping up a psychotic old crank with delusions of competence.
