I think we have to start by getting that straight. They will literally NEVER act like reasonable people. So much time is lost in Democratic (small "d" as well) containment strategies of these literal fascists because so many people keep waiting and expecting them to behave like reasonable people. I regularly mention that I do identify as an " open border" advocate, and I was a Bush/McCain Republican before the Drumpster fire started. All I ever considered was creating separate and easier processes for citizens of Mexico already residing near the border. It is admittedly a variation on "let the good ones in", but in this case it includes those least likely to get themselves killed.
