Megyn Kelly Astonished Some Woman Would Wait Years To Accuse A Powerful Man Of Gross Sex Stuff.

We wonder if perhaps anything in her own life might be relevant to the question.

Megyn Kelly is now back in full Fox News Defend All Republicans mode after her brief flirtation with lite morning news-n-talk on her "Megyn Kelly Today" show on NBC. On her program today, she interrupted and yelled at her own panelists to explain that it's NOT FAIR that all these Democrats and women and DEMOCRATS are accusing Brett Kavanaugh of still more sex stuff, because isn't accusing a powerful man of sex stuff when he's facing confirmation to the Supreme Court awfully political, and a total betrayal of the Me Too Movement? You should only accuse powerful men of misconduct when there's no confirmations or elections at stake, because otherwise that's playing politics, we guess.

Are the accusations against Kavanaugh anything like #MeToo? Oh, mercy, no, not at all!

Whether you believe these women or you don't, it's become completely political because it's a Supreme Court confirmation hearing. It's not like a regular 'Me Too' allegation. These have come up in the context of a Supreme Court confirmation proceeding. Same way when Roy Moore was accused, those women were accused of being political operatives.

In line with the White House's suggested talking points on the New Yorker story about Kavanaugh's alleged facial dick-waving at Yale, Kelly noted Deborah Ramirez had gaps in her memory, and took time to consult with a lawyer, and was hesitant to come forward at first, and by golly, that's all very very fishy! And nobody would back Ramirez up on it, at least out of the cherry-picked group of sources who said they didn't remember the party where it happened -- Kelly conveniently didn't mention the people from Yale who did say they believed Ramirez. And ain't nobody believe Christine Blasey Ford, either, except maybe witnesses she's asked to have speak at the hearing, but they won't be allowed to testify so they don't count. And they're sure as hell not going to listen to alleged eyewitness/participant Mark Judge, because who wants to open THAT can of worms?

Two of Kelly's panelists, Rolling Stone writer Joe Levy and PBS anchor Amy Holmes, suggested maybe a thorough investigation would be appropriate, like the FBI does when allegations about a nominee come up? Holmes said the FBI does really good, thorough, background checks, but Kelly interrupted to insist that's ONLY FOR NATIONAL SECURITY, NO FAIR! Which in general might be ... no, actually, it's verifiably untrue; the FBI conducts background checks on all Supreme Court nominees as well as many other federal positions. But Kelly said sex stuff is just not something the FBI can ever look into, because reasons:

They're not trying to figure out all your bad deeds. They're not a super-secret special police force to investigate super-secret really bad things the nominee may have done. That's why we have congressional investigators. The Republicans actually are investigating the Christine Blasey Ford allegations. And the Democrats have refused to do so! Theyr'e standing there in protest saying the FBI needs to do it, which doesn't really help us.

As we mentioned last week, the Republicans are ALL ABOUT a fair investigation, as we learned from Chuck Grassley's top lawyer guy:

They are simply DETERMINED to sweep even the new allegations under the rug, and Democrats are getting in the way of that, shame, shame, SHAME! Also, Dr. Blasey's lawyers are all "Democratic operatives," and also Bill Clinton, and it's all so UNFAIR! Besides, is there really any need to investigate, Kelly asked:  

"He's saying he didn't do it, Joe!" Kelly shouted, cutting off Levy. "He's not saying that those allegations against him amount to nothing if he did! He's saying he didn't do it!"

Then she explained that OF COURSE women deserve a fair hearing:

In my view, the Me Too movement doesn't mean all women must be believed. All women must get a fair hearing. They must be listened to with an open mind [...] But some lie! And we've seen that!

And yes, she went there:  "He Too is entitled to due process."

In fact, no further accusations aganst Kavanaugh can be countenanced, because there's a Supreme Court seat at stake, and to pay too much attention to women whose accusations might have a political result just sullies the whole Me Too movement, and that is such a shame for the real victims, who deserve better than to have these terrible fakers' claims heard. That's a new rule, you know: If there's a political consequence, it doesn't count as part of Me Too.

All we can say is thank goodness Roger Ailes was merely a media mogul who categorically denied ever harassing any women at Fox News, and not some sort of political figure, or Megyn Kelly would have had to never say anything about how he harassed her. Lucky thing!
