I have a similar take on "Aircraft Carrier Task Forces". First most Aircraft carriers are so 20th century. Remember Battleships? YOU SANK MY BATTLESHIP! Pearl Harbor was a lesson in asymmetrical warfare. During WW2 aircraft subsumed the roll of capital ships. The Aircraft Carrier became more important than the Battleship. We stopped building them. Now drones, cyber, and I dare say balloons are coming into their own. Now to my main point. We have more aircraft carriers than anyone else. They are a munition we use to project power outward into the world. The oldest of them in use long after their expirey day. Deathtraps to the sailors that man them. If we scrapped the two oldest and did not replace them we would free up enough national capital to provide Universal Health care, Free college, and a BUI to all Americans. In closing I state this. What would be a greater munition? A healthy economically secure populus and sever million more scientists and engineers? Or a couple of old 20th century Aircraft Carrier task forces?
