Well, if they've been carefully planning and plotting for 50 years, I'm not very impressed with their legal strategy. Hope they get their dumb asses handed to them, but with the current court of Federalist Society puppets it's not likely.

I mean, if SCOTUS wants to open up the possibility of ER docs suing gun manufacturers based on this precedent, have at it, I guess.

Seriously. Once in college, a condom broke and I went to the student health center for the morning-after pill. I had to wait for HOURS until a doctor who didn't morally object to my slutty behavior came on shift. At a private non-religious university. I was indescribably angry.

Legend has it that when he was a youngster getting started, he sometimes billed himself as "Solomon Burke, the singing boy preacher" and sometimes as "Sol Berkowitz, the singing boy cantor".

I don't know if that's true, but according to Wikipedia, "From an early age Burke was "always an enterprising personality".[138] In addition to his recording career, Burke ran funeral homes, owned two drugstores and a popcorn business in Philadelphia,[1] and later had the first Mountain Dew franchise in Philadelphia.[109] Burke's entrepreneurial activities included cooking and selling barbecued chicken sandwiches backstage. "I used to deliver grocery orders in a little wagon I made out of fish boxes. When I was seven, I sold newspapers out of my own newsstand on the corner of 40th and Lancaster. I had the first 99-cent car wash"'

Hard-working guy.

If this drug is banned, women are just going to find less effective and more dangerous ways to terminate their pregnancies. More of us will end up bleeding out in the ER, our only hope for survival being one of these doctors who believe they're being "injured" by having to keep us alive.

Looks like our rightwingers on ECOTUS seem to be aware of their collective popularity, so Mifepristone will be available.....for now.

Given the nature of the Texas "court" case, a similar scrutiny of testing of sildenafil (viagra) might be in order. It was developed as a blood pressure medication, and when a novel side-effect was discovered, how much testing for erectile safety and the possibility of induced migraines happened before marketing began?

Just to enter QAnon territory, Cialis (tadalafil) is in a plot to normalize radical politics. Who could deny that the trade name, Cialis, is not the base of the word soCIALISm? The new world order and the lizard people are using this drug as a battering ram to give us one world government. COULD IT BE? You tell me.

Sure seems like you're putting a lot of faith in the vibes court caring about consistency.

I can 100% see a world where these people get statistical standing and progressive causes don't.

Because impeachment is off the table as dems will never get 60 in the senate and dems are never going to find the guts to expand the court or do anything to levy consequences for whatever chaos the court hands down.
