This morning, on Morning Joe, during a discussion on all the allegations of sexual assault, harassment and "impropriety" coming out in recent months, Mika Brzezinski launched into a monologue in which she suggested that the women who say they were harrassed by Mark Halperin -- a former frequent guest of the show --
If Mark Halperin is sincere, then he should make amends -- put his time, effort, and energy into mending the damage he caused. He has a lot of contacts and he can help repair some of the career damage he caused. From his own pockets, he can compensate those whom he financially damaged. An apology is self-serving empty air, the test of sincerity is in Halperin's willingness to, as far as possible, mitigate the harm.
Too bad you just *had* to slip in that last part. Otherwise, you weren't doing so badly.
I would say that I am an optimistic person and think that just *maybe* these two have made some strides in the last year.
But when she said this, fuck her. It is not the victim's responsibility to try to rehabilitate a sexual agressor. He should be showing all the things he is doing to rehabilitate his effing self.
