CNN just told me that the Election is 108 days from today (7/20/24). This means that the membership of the PWBS (People With Brains Society) had better make planning for 4 more years of Donnie T's evil malevolence a top priority, at least if the polls are correct. For the record (IOW, *not* for debate...please) I vote as an Independent, so life is lived on a case-by-case basis; no rubber stamps to be found here, except for the one to treat *all* people with respect, all the time, without exceptions. Oooohhh....Lookee! There's Donnie T's smiling Mug on TV as CNN tells me (again) that his first RFM (Rally for Morons) is in Grand Rapids, MI tonight. It'll be indoors given the sad attempt on his life recently (seriously...I hate the man, but no one should be assassinated....period). TG for my MUTE button however since I almost have a physical reaction whenever I hear his whiny, self-centered bleating.

“One in four high school students identify as something other than straight. We're losing the country." - Mike Johnson. Actually a true statement, except change the verb tense, "you've lost"

"McKay insinuates that hacked emails from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman John Podesta contained coded references hinting involvement in “child sex trafficking” because of “unexplained references” to “hot dogs and pizza,” resembling alleged code words used by pedophiles."

<Whispers> Listen everyone. Hot Dogs and Pizza. Two O'Clock. You know where.

Religious fucknuts have no place in Government - from dogcatcher to Congress to the White House. It's a shame that we have no way of ensuring that they're kept out.

“obnoxiously gay,”

because calling people like Johnson obnoxiously straight and obnoxiously Christian would be impolite.

The 'evidence' was all destroyed by Jewish space lasers, as was Hunter's laptop.

The book sounds about right for Johnson's reading ability.

This would provide REAL reporters, if we had any, and REAL political opponents (ditto) with boat loads of questions to ask this jumped up Cletus. Whattaya mean "the whole thing just seemed to be dismissed as debunked, and no explanation was ever given,” Why does something that was facially not credible and proven to be based on fantasies need to be "explained", other than to investigate where this evil nonsense come from, and what the fuck is wrong with the people who embraced it? This implies that Mikey (look ma, no hands!) Hunter himself believes this degraded nonsense, and so should not be in any position of power in a civilized society in the 21st Century. And he should not be allowed to handle sharp objects or a check book or credit card and have a court-appointed keeper to monitor his daily life. And so on.

I believe the corporate masters of the media companies ran off the real journalists long ago. Can't employ anyone who might dare challenge the corporate bottom line after all.

McKay's next effort will be for Brave Books. It's a children's picture book about the wholesome Florida GOP chair called "Christian Has Two Mommies". It's a rush effort, since we didn't realize that Christian *had* two mommies until the entire threesome thing broke loose...

UM, because the Repugs are ALL about CONTROL! Donnie T. introduced Not Believing FACTS, so a large cohort of Repugs now live in alternative universes. Logic and Rationality are their Kryptonite, and it’s pointless to argue. I live following the news and have stopped being amazed at what no-minds too many Repugs are.

Y’all forgot the best part—the part where despite promoting the trash pile of a book and endorsing it publicly on a radio show, John Mikedaughter (i never get tired of typing that) had the brass ones to claim “i never read it and I don’t support it.”

Like…that’s a hell of a position, Michael.

Animus: A Tale of Ardenia (Tales of Ardenia Book 1) is a free kindle download. Some poor soul at Wonkette could read this for us and do a book report without giving McKay any actual money.

I'm tempted to accept the challenge, but I suspect the book is very poorly written, and that would bug me a lot. Based on the description the book sounds like it's trite at best -- I don't know how you have an "evil" culture vs. a "righteous" one without lots of cliches and wooden characterization and poor world-building, etc. If I take the challenge, I get to quit if the poor writing gets to be too much. And in the book report I get to make criticisms of craft as well as story.

I start to read the sample chapter. Nothing but backstory. The main character appears to be a 17-year-old capitalist Mary Sue who idolizes her father, the greatest capitalist the region ever encountered.

Tedious as fuck.
