A nice old lady walks up, the kid runs to her screaming "Grandma!!" and we still ask for ID, and make sure she's on the approved list. If she isn't, everything stops until we get hold of the parent and make sure it's OK. And that's if she manages to get in the door, which would only happen if some other parent held the door for her. Just in case you were worried that maybe random people have access to your kids in daycare - the don't.
