I am ashamed that these collective POS are citizens of my state. And that other citizens of my state voted for them 🤬

Ta, Robyn. Of course, there's no money for schools. Kids are only important before they're born.

I hope Bailey has people willing to testify under oath that this sort of activity is a part of the legislators' duties and cite the state law or state Constitution passage that makes that clear.

A very similar thing happened recently in Australia. A man with a long history of schizophrenia ran amok in a crowded shopping centre with a knife, killing six, before being shot dead by a lone policewoman.

A bunch of known trolls on Twitter initially claimed he was Muslim, before settling on naming a completely innocuous Jewish student. A REAL Jewish student, complete with photo taken from his socials.

Then two mainstream "news" channels picked it up and plastered his name and face over their websites. Shortly before the killer's ACTUAL name and history was released. A white man born in Australia.

The student has now reached a settlement with the news channels, and is presumably deciding whether or not to go after the Twitter trolls. I hope he does.

Well, if you can’t trust a guy on Xitter with a name like “Mischief,” who can you trust?

Are there judges in Missouri dumb or MAGA enough to believe a state senator's job is to slander or libel and lie about people?

Zap's avatar

Rhetorical question.

This also suggests that these state senators have right wing trolls in their twitter feeds and that they monitor twitter instead of legislating or whatever their real job is.

Yep. Frozen Orange started that trend.

I'm going to be paying close attention to this lawsuit, because AG Bailey and former AG Schmitt (now Senator) destroyed my life by filing false charges against me for second degree murder, with absolutely no evidence whatsoever. I am currently having to sell my house in order to pay my $150,000 in attorney's fees, and I'm having no luck at all raising money through crowdfunding, unlike the state senators mentioned in this lawsuit who have RNC support. I will be suing both Bailey and Schmitt, and several other people, for $50 million, and they are going to claim immunity, which is bullshit.

"Although this rarely goes anywhere legislatively, it usually makes them look like incredible assholes who don’t care if people live or die."

Yeah. "Look like", that's what it is. Uh-huh.

"lone wolf! who was influenced by no one!" (but just so happens to have 100% identical beliefs as mainstream conservative leaders and quotes them directly.)

"...being quick on the draw has its benefits"

I thought only tabloid "journalists" worried about getting "the scoop"? Do all these social media assholes imagine they're "journalists"? Considering how "conservative media" has cheapened our appreciation of the facts, I just bet these assholes do believe they're providing a "public service".

Pretty sure that should be, “…it makes it crystal clear they are incredible assholes who don’t care if people live or die.”

Merchan needs to stop threatening jail time if he is not going to do it. But since Trump has limited golf/campaigning time, make him appear in court in person on Wednesday, the off day for the trial, and present a check for the fine in certified funds at 2:00 pm. Then make him wait around for an hour before accepting the check. "We need to make sure the check is good." That will throw a kink into any plans he has for that day. He doesn't have enough time to do much in the morning and by the time he got to the airport and took off it would be after 6:00 pm, limiting what he could do in the evening.

Wednesday is Judge Merchan's day of respite to run mental health court. That's where he works with people trying hard to cope with their mental health challenges and escape a life of crime. Much better people than the Flatulent Tyrannosaurus Rump.
