"These voters thought that they could elect Republicans but still enjoy left-wing policies, like legalized abortion, increasing the minimum wage, and requiring most employers to provide paid sick leave for their workers. Did this work out like they dreamed? It did not! Paid sick leave is already out the window, and legislators have been hard at work trying to make abortion illegal again.'

That says it all. Never ever vote for Republicans, no matter how sweet and charming they may appear. Not a one is to be trusted

They will say anything to get elected, but once in power they will renege on commitments, backtrack on all those fine moderate speeches and revert to the repulsive culture and mindset of that odious faction

Not s single Republican, woman or man, is to be trusted. Ever.

You must first realize that the Republican Party no longer exists. It is now the MAGA Party whose main goal is to slowly destroy individual rights and replace our representative democracy with authoritarian rule. There are no longer any Republicans who can be trusted. You'd have to be out of your mind to vote for anyone with an (R) behind their names.

Ta, Robyn. Sigh. I'll say it once more: If men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.

Any State prohibiting abortion must also ensure that "...men choose the one and the only sperm they deem viable and use THAT ONE SINGLE CHOSEN SPERM ONLY during intercourse or rape".

If you are young enough to get pregnant, and healthy enough to walk, drive or hop a bus... GET THE FUCK OUT of the bible belt right meow.

It will not solve the real problem (ignorance), but you will at least be rid of these meddlesome, racist psychos.

That's the thing. A not small percentage of voters think voting for hate, bigotry and destruction should naturally include all kinds of perks for them like a decent wage and control of one's own body and family decision making, preferably for them and them alone. They fail to grasp their racist overlords are offering a multi-year long field day of hatred and domestic terrorism *in exchange for* the voters getting absolutely nothing else in return, and having everything they've still got ripped away from them to hand off to needy billionaires. But when you pull the R lever? That's what you're voting for.

This is such classic Repug bullshit. If they actually believed that people voted against what they thought they wanted, the amendment would say simply “This amendment bans abortion in the state of MO, except in cases of blah blah blah.” They phrase it the way they did SPECIFICALLY to confuse the low-info voters they count on. It’s like every other GOP effort across the country: they know the majority of people don’t want what they are really peddling, so tart it up or obfuscate the meaning or just flat-out lie about their intent. Unfortunately those low-info voters won’t make the effort to understand. So the rest of us need to get the fuck out to vote!!!

The Florida abortion repeal vote failed not only because of the 60% required approval, but because (Mo)Ron used taxpayer money for ads against it! He’s a fascist!

Trust me when I say there was NO CONFUSION ON THE BALLOT INITIATIVE because I personally helped address hundreds of flyers and postcards to voters explaining the initiative, as did every other county Democratic Party volunteer across the state of Missouri, including the State Party office, and nobody didn't understand what they were voting for. We even sent the flyers and postcards to Republican voters, because WOMEN SUPPORT EACH OTHER! That's why certain Rethuglicans want to take the vote away from us.

Unfortunately, in the rural areas of Missouri the only choice on the ballot is GOP. If we want this to change in rural areas, and not just in Missouri, the Democratic Party needs to get off their ass and start cultivating and supporting rural Dem candidates. Instead, they have given up and refuse to support candidates in rural areas because "they can't win."

Yep, unreconstructed state-based regime of terror wilding out. Voters I imagine need to understand, if you want freedom, stop voting in Republicans. But if your priority is making sure to stick it to vulnerable minorities with electing unreconstructed freaks like those, don't be surprised when the will of the voters for things that benefit you is also violated.

In order to remove a nonexistent ban on abortion would mean they would have to create one first.
